Nicole Ohnesorge

Nicole Ohnesorge started dancing ballet at the age of 5 and changed ten years later to American Tap Dance. She was trained by numerous well known tap teachers, such as Brenda Buffalino, Sam Weber and Andreas Dänel. In the year 2000 she started doing Irish Dance.

During her competitive years she has won 3 German Championships and was placed 2nd at the European and 3rd at the World Championships (WIDA). For the past years she has been successfully running her own dance school, Tap Connection, in Berlin and also danced for Flames of the Dance as the soloist dancer.

Nicole joined Magic of the Dance in 2010 and performed with the show in prestigous venues throughout Germany such as the Alte Oper in Frankfurt and the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin. In 2014 she premiered in the leading role of the „She-Devil” with the show. She has also prepared some of her young students for dancing on television with Riverdance in 2008 and 2014.

She trained the MDR Deutsches Fernsehballett and prepared them for the TV appearance „Irischer Abend” in MDR as well as the German comedian Sascha Grammel for his Show „Keine Ahnung”.

Irish Dance Events Berlin was founded in 2010 with the launch of Camp Rince Berlin – Berlin’s first and only week-long intensive Irish dance camp – by Nicole Ohnesorge and Gyula Glaser. Camp Rince Berlin had over 150 participants from countries around the world in the past years.

The aim of Irish Dance Events Berlin is to promote Irish dancing and music events happening in and around the city of Berlin.

Over the years Irish Dance Events Berlin has organized over 20 Workshops and Masterclasses and has supported several touring productions with promotional activities. In 2014 we prepared 3 students of the Berlin-based Tap Connection Irish Dancers to perform live on ZDF Television with Riverdance at „Wilkommen bei Carmen Nebel”.

Irish Dance Events Berlin strives to organize and promote quality Irish dance events, to support the Irish dancing community and the fans of this wonderful art form.

Since 2010 IDE Berlin has hosted over 20 Workshops and Masterclasses with guest instructors such as Colin Dunne in Berlin. These events were visited by dancers from all over the world.

Nicole and Gyula have taught Masterclasses and Workshops in Finland, Holland, Hungary and are working with several Irish dance groups in Germany on a regular basis. They are both available for Masterclasses and Choreography Workshops.

In 2014 IDE Berlin prepared 3 dancers of the Berlin-based Tap Connection Irish Dancers for a television performance with Riverdance on ZDF’s „Wilkommen bei Carmen Nebel”.

With such promotional activities and with our access to an extensive network of Irish dancers in Berlin and Germany we can help promoting productions that are visiting Berlin and Germany.

A brand new programme developed by Gyula Glaser for team building purposes for companies that are looking to have something special at their team building events.

„Céilí”s are Irish figure dance choreographies that can be performed in groups of various sizes. They are a real challange and require team spirit and trust in one and other. As the groups learn the different parts of the dances they work together as a team. All members of the group are equal, there is only a limited hierarchy throughout the process.

Participants of Corporate Céilí will learn the basic movements of Irish dancing and based on the size of the group they learn several Céilís – some easy and some more challanging ones.

The Programm can be tailored to the needs of the company. For more details, please get in touch with Gyula Glaser.
